Speeding
Caught by a fixed camera, a mobile check or an average-speed zone.
TrapSpotter warns you on the road, but it can still go wrong. If a fine or a summons to the police court lands on your doormat, our partner Mijn Boete looks at your case for free and with no strings attached — with lawyers who do nothing but traffic law.
mijnboete.be is a Dutch-language site. Say in your message if you would rather be answered in English.
Traffic law
Eight areas, each with its own page on mijnboete.be. Yours not among them? Ask anyway — the first opinion costs you nothing.
Caught by a fixed camera, a mobile check or an average-speed zone.
Drink-driving, breath test, blood test, immediate withdrawal or a driving ban.
Saliva test, blood analysis and the consequences of drugs behind the wheel.
Driving without a valid licence, roadworthiness test, registration or insurance.
Leaving the scene after a collision, including when you did not notice it.
The stricter rules for anyone who has held a licence for less than two years.
You were injured or suffered damage in a road accident and want compensation.
Every other traffic offence that ends up before the police court.
How it works
You send over what landed on your doormat, you get an opinion, then you decide. Nothing is signed before that third step.
Through the form on mijnboete.be — you can upload the summons with it — or in a WhatsApp message.
A traffic lawyer reads your case and tells you what you are facing and what your options are. Free, and within 24 hours on working days.
If you want representation in the police court, a specialist lawyer takes the case. If you say no, it ends there.
Hello, I am coming from TrapSpotter. I have received a traffic fine or a court summons and would like the free first opinion from a traffic lawyer.

The bill
The first opinion is free. What comes after is, in most cases, paid by your own car insurance.
According to Mijn Boete, more than 90% of car drivers are entitled to a lawyer through the legal-expenses cover included in almost every car policy, and that cover also pays any court costs.
If you fall outside it and do not qualify for a state-appointed lawyer, Mijn Boete agrees clear terms on fees up front — a fixed amount if you prefer, so nothing comes as a surprise afterwards.
What your own policy covers is best checked by you, or asked of Mijn Boete directly. TrapSpotter has no view of your insurance.
An initiative of Bannister Advocaten
TrapSpotter is not a law firm and gives no legal advice. Mijn Boete is an independent partner — an initiative of Bannister Advocaten — and any agreement about advice or representation is made directly between you and them. The terms, rates and figures on this page are theirs; check mijnboete.be for the current version.

The cheapest fine is the one you never get. TrapSpotter warns you in real time about speed checks, cameras, average-speed zones and hazards on the road.
