1. What are cookies?

Cookies and similar technologies, including pixels and localStorage keys, are small files placed on your device when you visit our website. They help the site work correctly and provide insight into its use.

Please note: the TrapSpotter mobile app does not use browser cookies. After your express consent, the app may activate a Meta conversion pixel under Settings → Analytics & tracking. This policy primarily applies to trapspotter.com.

2. Which cookies and trackers do we use?

Strictly necessary cookies

These are essential for features such as signing in and remembering preferences during a session. They do not require consent.

Functional cookies

These remember preferences such as your language, so you do not have to select it on every visit.

Conversion and marketing pixels

We use Meta Pixel (Facebook / Instagram) to measure advertising effectiveness and purchase conversions. It is loaded only after consent; consent is revoked by default.

We currently do not use Google Analytics. Google Tag Manager manages scripts but does not itself set tracking cookies.

4. Third-party trackers

5. Retention

  • Session cookies: removed when you close your browser
  • Persistent cookies: kept for up to 13 months or until you delete them
  • Meta Pixel events: retained according to Meta’s policy
